Our Story

Hello,

I’m Kimberly – the founder and creator of Cové Candles.

Making my own range of candles has been a long standing dream of mine, but like most dreams – life kept getting in the way! I’ve always been an avid candle collector – I love the way they can create an atmosphere in a room, their ability to shift a mood… and of course the gorgeous scents they create!

In 2019 I decided to stop buying other people’s candles and start making my own, this was when Cové Candles was born.

When lockdown came around in 2020 I knew it was time to finally hit go on the brand – and I haven’t looked back since.

Why Cové? The name is inspired by a portmanteau (of sorts) of two of the things in the world I love most – my daughter Evie – and my dog Coco! These candles are made with love – and I wanted that to be reflected in the name!

Each scent is carefully chosen for the mood it inspires, and each candle is hand poured in my kitchen in Sutton Coldfield.

About Cové candles

Cové Candles combines the most beautiful scents 100% natural soy wax. Each candle is hand poured with love and are designed to create the perfect aroma within your home.

We are often asked why we choose to make our candles using soy wax. People comment that soy wax products are more costly than say paraffin wax products, which is true at face value.

However if you dig a little deeper you’ll soon see that the savings come at a higher cost.

Simply put, soy wax is better. Better for the environment, better for the home, better for the family and creates a better performing product – which is important to us.

These are our top 6 reasons for choosing soy wax over paraffin wax, if you know of any further benefits or drawbacks we’d love to hear them.

Longer Burning

Soy wax has a lower melting point which means it burns up to 50% longer than paraffin wax candles.

Better Fragrance

Due to the lower melting temperature of the wax, a healthier ‘wax pool’ around the wick is created. This ‘wax pool’ allows the fragrance oils to more easily vaporise, and thus releasing more fragrance into the home.
